With the possible disruption in mail service, should there be a strike or lockout at Canada Post, the District of Logan Lake is cautioning homeowners not to mail in their property tax payments or Provincial Home Owner Grant Applications. Canada Post could potentially cease delivery of mail as early as July 2nd, 2016.
Postmarks or courier dispatch dates are not accepted as payment dates. To avoid a 10% penalty, payments and properly completed Home Owner Grant Applications must be received by 4:00 p.m. on July 4, 2016, without exception. Property owners may pay their taxes in person at Municipal Hall (cash, cheque or interac) or online through participating financial institutions. Home Owner Grants may also be claimed in person or electronically via the District's website.
