DISTRICT STARTS $1.4 MILLION RETROFIT PROJECT
Demolition began today on the $1.4 million retrofit of the Municipal Hall located in Logan Lake. With $1.1 million in funding provided by the Logan Lake Community Forest, the project entails converting the old Firehall into new space for the local WHY (Wellness, Health, and Youth non-profit organization) and a new Council Chambers, plus new entrances and refurbished meeting and office space in the remainder of the building.
Mayor Robin Smith commented, “We’re very excited to see this important project underway as it provides much needed new space for the WHY and for the District. It also opens up valuable community space in our Recreation Centre that can be made available for special events. We’re especially thankful to the Logan Lake Community Forest for providing the majority of the funding for the project.”
The retrofit will not impact daily operations at the hall. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2018.
