Composters and Eco Cards

Give Green a chance and start composting. It's easy and in turn provides a great fertilizer and soil conditioner. Compost bins are available from the District of Logan Lake for a cost of only $25.00.
Eco-Cards are available from the District office in denominations of $10, $20 and $50. Eco-Cards are necessary for payment when bringing garbage to the TNRD Transfer Station. Eco-Cards are also available at the Esso Station and Highland Valley Foods.
Dog Owners - Pick up of Dog Droppings
- Created on Monday, 23 April 2012 14:20
It appears that some of our public spaces and walkways, in particular the lake walkway and the designated dog park, have become strewn with dog droppings as some dog owners do not pick up after their dogs.
Our Animal Control Bylaw 221, defines a "Public Space" as "a place which is owned or controlled by a public body and which is open to use by the public".; and further, provides Council the option (by resolution), "to prohibit by posting of proper signs, the keeping of animals in or upon a highway, public park or space.".
As our public spaces and walkways are widely used and enjoyed by citizens and visitors alike (with and/or without dogs); and the dog park is for the benefit and enjoyment of all dogs, it would be a shame to prohibit dogs in all public space areas and/or lose the dog park.
Please be a responsible dog owner and pick up after your dog(s) so that the majority of our citizens, visitors and dogs can enjoy these public spaces and walkways. Dog litter bags are available at the west end of the lake pathway near the stairs; on the lake pathway at the west side of the campground; in the campground at the entrance to the trail that goes around the lake and at the dog park.
Your cooperation in ensuring the cleanup of your dog's droppings, is expected. Should the amount of dog droppings increase, Council will consider prohibiting dogs from public spaces, walkways and/or the dog park.
Thanking you in advance,
Wayne Vollrath
Chief Administrative Officer
