Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the overall management of the operations of the municipality;
  • Ensure that the policies, programs, and other directions of Council are implemented;
  • Advise and inform Council on the operation and affairs of the municipality;
  • Approving Officer - oversee subdivision approvals, planning, policy, and development, including OCP and zoning bylaws;
  • Assigns powers, duties and functions to municipal officers;
  • Chief Electoral Officer;
  • Liaison with staff, Council, the public, Media and government or other agencies;
  • Attends all Council meetings and designated Committee meetings.


The Deputy Corporate Administrator - Gwen Mason

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervision of department personnel;
  • Provides assistance to the Chief Administrative Officer in all matters of Administration;
  • Acts as License Inspector for the municipality;
  • Liaison with staff, Council, the public and government or other agencies;
  • Prepares reports, minutes, bylaws and correspondence, as required;
  • Compiles agenda's and reports and attends Council and/or Committee meetings;
  • Ensures accurate minutes of meetings, bylaws and other records of the business of Council are maintained and kept safe;
  • Ensures access is provided to municipal records of the Council, as required by law;
  • Affixes the corporate seal and certifies copies of bylaws and other documents, as required;
  • Administers oaths and affirmations, affidavits and declarations, as required;
  • Accepts notices and documents that are required or permitted to be given to, served on, filed with or otherwise provided to the Council or municipality.
